At Lafferty’s we believe in a personal touch! That is why when you call our office, you will not get a machine, but a real live person who is ready and willing to answer any and all of your questions. Lafferty’s is and will continue to be a large, locally owned and operated appliance business filled with family values, friendly service, reliability and a great selection of high-end, quality products at competitive prices!

Our company opened its doors in Texarkana in 1971 on Reading Avenue, near the Coca Cola plant, doing appliance service and selling parts over the counter only.
But by 1973, we had to hire two more men to expand the service and parts business. After moving to several other locations for expanding the service and parts business, Gilbert Lafferty, founder of Lafferty’s, decided to add appliance sales to the business, which in turn prompted another move in 1977 to a larger, more accessible location at 1001 Spruce Street. There we added appliance sales with Whirlpool as our number one product line along with Jenn-Air and Kitchenaid.

With increased growth and Lafferty’s reputation for reliable and friendly service, Lafferty’s made yet another move in 1986 to 2801 Summerhill Road. Business and staff continued to grow with many of the new staff being family.

As markets and industry began to change, so did the appliance business. Now most everything is controlled electronically, which means it requires specialized training and special parts, whereas ‘back in the day’, a truck load of parts would fix just about any appliance. But Lafferty’s has done more than just keep up with the changing times and technology. We have stayed ahead of those changes by bringing new and innovative products to the consumer with quality trained technicians to take care of them.

The Summerhill Road location soon became too small for the aspirations of the up and coming next generation. Mark Lafferty, Gilbert and Linda’s son, daughter and son in law, Donna and Jim Davenport began to look further into the future of Lafferty’s. Seeing the city of Texarkana’s growth direction to the north, they purchased land and built a beautiful new show room on the Interstate at University Avenue.

The new facility with over 27,000 square feet, allowed for huge expansions in the services provided. Live kitchen vignettes of Viking, Sub-Zero, Wolf, Dacor, Electrolux, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air were added. A new dimension came with the addition of a La-Z-Boy Comfort Studio, bringing furniture, rugs and accessories and a huge bedding and mattress area featuring the Tempur-Pedic and Serta mattress lines. Along with full kitchen design services came granite and quartz countertops, tile backsplashes and flooring, all on display for any look you can imagine. Also available is over a 700 square foot wall of flat panel high definition televisions with name brands like Samsung, LG, Sony, Mitsubishi and Sharp.

We have continued to keep the Summerhill Road location open but with a different theme. Service and parts are still distributed from this location, but we have added a new concept line, Scratch and Dent appliance and Used appliances.
